Fly Fishing Classes Near Seattle
Many times we have heard people say… "I'd like to try that sometime, I want to learn to fly fish!"
We teach with a fun and simple style at Red's University of Fly Fishing.
While we are very serious about fly fishing and our programs are of the
highest quality, we have not forgotten that it is supposed to be fun!
Fly casting, reading a river, and selecting the right fly do not have to be
complicated to be effective.
The Introduction Series is composed of Fly Fishing 101,
201, and 301.
It is designed around three important components, fun, simplicity and
value! To sign up, just give us a call and we will get you started
on the path to success.
After the Introduction Classes, you are invited to join us on
Destination
Outings and experience all sorts of exciting new fisheries. We also
offer a range of Specialty Classes to expand your skills beyond the basics
and enhance your experience.
A
Testimonial
"We brought my entire
family out for a weekend to the Red's campus and I was blown away by how
well organized all three of the core classes were put together. We had
a range of folks with us from my 77 year old father in law, to my 14 year
old son and the 2 instructors hosting the class worked equally well with
everyone. I thought it would be a mess but watching them handle a
group of newbies was like poetry. They seemed to know when to laugh
and exactly what to say to fix a fly cast at any given moment. By far
the best part of the class, and one that we didn't expect, was taking a
screen and finding real bugs living in the river in front of the lodge.
Even at 51 years old I had never seen just what type and how much insect
life lives in a river like that. I was amazed. Thanks to Red's
for starting us on the right track, we now have a trip to fly fish for
Silver Salmon planned in Alaska that never would have been possible without
learning to fly cast at Red's!."
Our incredible riverside campus is located 2 hours east of Seattle on the
Blue Ribbon Yakima River in famous Lower Canyon 13 miles south of
Ellensburg, Washington. It is a scenic drive and most of our students
are from the greater Seattle area.
It is composed of a luxurious condo style lodge, full service fly shop, and
is located on the Yakima River.

do I need to have?
To get started you don't need to have any gear. We supply the fly rods
