Mountain Creek Guided Fly Fishing Trips

Small streams, small fish, plenty of bites, and awesome scenery adds up to having big fun! You will love this trip. During the heat of summer, this is our where we love to spend some time. Most of us were raised on Walk 'n Wade small stream fishing trips and would love nothing more than to show you a great adventure. Have kids? Perfect! These trips bring out the kid in all of us and there is not a better way to introduce them to fly fishing. It is simple and they can chase frogs if the mood strikes.

The small stream fishing and scenery in central Washington is absolutely spectacular. This trip includes 4-5 hours of hiking and wade fishing on a nearby mountain stream. Some anglers will follow this with a night or two at Canyon River Ranch lodge where you can relax and enjoy the hot tub after a day in the mountains! We fish a variety of small streams. Your guide will take you where he feels it is going to be the best possible experience the Teanaway River, Naches River, Tieton River, Rattlesnake Creek, Taneum Creek, or Naneum Creek.

This trip is perfect for anglers that want to experience a great eco-adventure combined with some fly fishing and a night in the lodge. Our guests seem to enjoy wade fishing these cool mountain streams on a hot summer day! We rarely see any other anglers and the wildlife is abundant. This is a perfect trip for someone that simply loves nature and dry fly fishing... sounds good doesn't it!

Big Adventure for Small Fish

Fly fishing should be fun, simple, and something that you don't always have to have a guide to go do! For most of us, recreational time is precious and we want our day off work to be the best it can be. The result is that a lot of anglers either don't fly fish as much as they should or try something new.

We have a creek fishing program that is perfect for anyone that wants to experience a great guide trip AND learn places and skills they can utilize without a guide in the future. Since you don't need a boat and most of our fisheries are public land this is something you can do without us the next time.

The Size of the Adventure vs. the Size of the Fish

Yes, we catch small trout here and we love it! Don't do this trip expecting big fish. These fisheries are all about hiking the wild and fishing to small trout in beautiful places. On

occasion we bump into the might 10-12" fish but most fish will be 4-8" and voracious.  It is a very good trip for beginners!

Most our creek trips are "guide's choice". Our staff all has their favorite small streams around the valley and will take you where they think is going to be the best possible experience for you or your family. We guide streams in both the Kittitas and Naches watersheds which is composed of over a dozen local streams.

What is a Typical Day Like?

The hiking can be as short or long as you like. There are streams that require a long walk while some others you can almost cast from the truck! We can tailor your trip to meet your physical abilities or goals. If you want to hike a long ways... let us know! We'll do a long trek.

What do I need to bring on a creek fishing trip?

You don't have a bunch of fancy gear to do this trip, but you will need good outdoor summertime clothing. Quick dry pants, wading boots with neoprene socks, long sleeved shirts, sunglasses, hat, and a hip pack or small backpack are the bare essentials. Kids can get away with old sneakers and good socks.  Bring a few snacks and a bottle of water as well, we do not serve lunch on these trips.

We like 2-3 weight rods that are 7'6" long or even shorter. It makes the casting easier, more effective, and it is much better for hooking fish than something heavier. You can use a 5 weight but you won't have half the fun.
