Freshwater Bonefish
The beautiful and scenic Columbia River near Ellensburg is our destination of
choice for Carp fishing with a fly rod. The water is cool and clear,
peak season for this adventure are the hot days of mid summer when the carp
move into the shallow flats and feed. One of the things we love most about
Carp fishing is that the hotter it gets, the better the fishing. The backdrop
is beautiful and the fish typically work over solid gravel and sand substrate
which makes wading enjoyable.
Some anglers equate sight fishing carp to Bonefishing in freshwater because
the game is all visual, your casts are made only to specific fish. Most fish
are in the 10-20 lb. range, but there are occasionally fish in the 25-40 lb.
range. The fight is a good one, these are powerful fish that will push
the strongest 8 weight rods to their limit and put your reel's drag system to
the test.
Join us for a day sight casting to Freshwater Bonefish and decide for your self
if they are worthy of the title.
A Washington Freshwater Fishing License is required for this trip.

Testimonials
"Gary, that trip we made over to the Columbia River with you
a couple of weeks ago was a blast, I cannot believe that I never got
into carp fishing sooner. They are so big, I actually remember
shaking a little bit when that first 15 pounder came cruising by and I
had to make a 40 foot cast out in front of him. I will
definitely be coming back in August and this time I will let the big
one run! Also, thank you for letting me use that 8 weight rod of
yours. Next time out I plan to purchase my own set up. When you
get a chance, send over the pictures of David and the big one!"
